Maximize Your Cash Flow With Mafia Wars Rackets
Zynga has decided to change the game in a rather major way by adding Mafia Wars rackets and taking away properties. Now there are the “old” players who still have properties and the newer players who have rackets. It appears that those with properties will be given an incentive to trade them in but how the transition will take place is unknown at the time of this writing. So far, from what people are saying, they are not happy with the new system nor with how Zynga has delivered it.
What is the new Mafia Wars rackets system? For those who have played Farmville, it is similar to the time based harvesting system and essentially needs baby-sat for you to collect your reward.
In Mafia Wars you need to “shake down” a racket and then collect your reward when the specific time has elapsed. If you do not return then the payout can be lost. This is time based and there is no listing is available yet to show you how long you have to collect, the listing in the facebook game under “Rackets-What’s This?” only says “if you don’t return promptly”.
Each racket requires influence to complete. The influence skill regenerates one point per hour and does not reload when you level up.
Rackets are found under the… wait for it… rackets tab and you will find a number of tabs under that. The different types of rackets are: cash, attack, defense and jobs. You will get the specified cash or boost when you shake down each racket.
As well as cash or a boost, you also receive the influence back that you used for the shakedown which you can use to do another one. You can get back a total of 125% of your maximum influence level. If you are too slow at collecting on the shake down you can lose the influence you used. In addition, you will lose any take and other benefits from the shake down.
Each racket can be mastered. Each time you master a racket you get access to additional rackets. Rackets seem to pay out very little when compared to properties but as soon as you have mastered them your take will go up.
For those coming from the properties version of the game this may seem really futile, but the payout can receive quite high once you master the racket levels.
