A common misconception is that an accident calls for punishment. This is not the case. Oftentimes, punishment may actually cause more accidents because it will only frighten and confuse him. Never use punishment when potty training your puppy; for that matter, does not use punishment in any puppy training endeavor. Punishment only confuses and scares your dog. Then he will be likely to have more indoor accidents than before.
